The future is electric, but only if it’s better — for businesses, consumers, and the planet. We bring electrification to the next level, to enable and sustain a cleaner planet.
At TAE Power Solutions, we design power management systems that use less but do more. From electric vehicle drivetrains and ultrafast charging to stationary energy storage and grid efficiencies, we develop a clean energy ecosystem of proprietary technology designed to go faster, perform stronger, travel farther, and last longer.
About the Role:
We currently have an opening at our UK facility for a Systems Modeling and HIL Testing Engineer. The engineer expects to develop, implement, and validate the offline and real-time models of inverters, converters, electric vehicles, and chargers in electric vehicles and energy systems. You will work closely with Power Electronics Engineers, HIL engineer, and LabView Software Engineers to build the customized and high precision Digital Twins of EV, chargers, and microgrids.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with EV Powertrain and Energy Storage Systems development teams to develop high-fidelity real-time models for new power electronics systems and collaborate throughout the application software development.
- Model verifications through offline and real-time simulations.
- Model-based HDL code generation for real-time system simulation.
- Debugging developed models and algorithms through software in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware in-the-loop (HIL).
- Define detailed test specifications based on the high-level testing requirements.
- Implement the detailed plant models in MATLAB/ Simulink environment to run on the Speedgoat RT system.
- Integrate HDL code and C-code into the LabView environment.
- Work closely with LabView Software Engineers on the integration of multiple sub-systems in Real-Time System (NI).
- Analyzing and visualizing large data sets from various data sources to understand the use cases
- Post-processing and analysis of experimental data to validate and inform models.
