About the Role:

We are searching for aSoftware Engineer, Data to join our Power Management Platform team. You will be responsible for defining the data strategy and implementing the infrastructure to realize your vision. Your work will enable, empower, and influence the future of a power management system used in everything from electric vehicles to nuclear fusion. This is a full-time, remote role (HQ in Southern California) with rich benefits and a great comp package. Join us!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create a robust, scalable data platform to support operational, research, and business needs.
• Work across software, product, and business disciplines to define product requirements.
• Develop complete solutions from APIs and pipelines to storage and reports with a focus on security, performance, stability, and maintainability.
• Build data engineering processes to take us from design to post-production.
• Lead our growing team by demonstrating ownership and providing mentorship.

Required Education & Experience:

• Significant experience in high-volume production environments.
• Expert at designing and implementing data collection APIs and pipelines using even-driven architectures.
• Demonstrated experience in modeling data and queries in both SQL and NoSQL.
• Deep understanding of modern security and privacy laws and techniques as it relates to data.
• Ability to define data quality metrics and implement test and quality monitoring solutions.
• 4+ years in a data engineering role.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with cloud architectures (ideally in GCP).
• Experience with streaming platforms and stream processing (Kafka, Beam/Spark).
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques and infrastructure.
• Experience with segmenting data in multi-tenant environments.
• Experience with data anonymization and data warehousing.
• Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools.
