Job Description
Position Overview:
Solid Power is seeking a Program Manager to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state electrolytes. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The Sr. Program Manager will act as the central resource and work with corporate headquarters to manage product & process development based on customer requirements & feedback, as well as manage joint development activities with our partners. This role is critical in bridging communications and operations between our headquarters and Korean customers. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, highly organized, and comfortable managing customer-facing responsibilities in Korea while collaborating closely with their U.S.-based counterpart.
Job Duties:
- Maintain detailed documentation of meetings, decisions, and action items.
- Facilitate smooth execution of programs across time zones and cultural contexts.
- Work closely with the U.S.-based Program Manager to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Translate and relay communications between Korean customers and U.S. technical teams.
- Support cross-functional coordination across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Maintain visibility into HQ-led activities such as budget tracking and technical action items.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Korean customers, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Own and manage Korea-specific action items, including local logistics, documentation, and follow-ups.
- Lead customer meetings in Korea and provide translation and interpretation support for HQ teams.
- Must have a strategic approach to external communication.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize customer feedback to inform products and process improvements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical discipline
Experience: 8+ years of industry experience with 4+ years in a Program Management role with a focus on product development or manufacturing
Language: Korean/English language proficiency
Skills:
- Strong cross-functional team leadership and consensus-building abilities
- Customer-facing experience in a Program Manager capacity
- Ability to lead, influence, and gain acceptance across all organizational levels
- Thorough knowledge of phase gate methodology
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of product development
- Rapid learner who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)
Industry Experience:
- Battery cell development
- Battery cell manufacturing processes and equipment
- Automotive industry (OEM/Tier 1) with strong APQP knowledge
- Product development with joint development partners
