Job Description
Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an experienced electrolyte engineer to join our stellar/bold/passionate team in Västeras.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon-free society.
As a member of the battery material development team, you will develop electrolyte formulations and validate in full-cells for advanced cell chemistry platforms.
Liquid electrolyte development, electrochemical analysis, and cell evaluation will be carried out to ensure cell performance targets for commercial and R&D cell projects.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Basic liquid electrolyte mixing and evaluation of electrolyte properties
- Basic liquid electrolyte formulation and cell evaluation
- Development of new additives and related electrochemical analysis
- Electrolyte and cell chemistry related efforts to ensure qualification for commercial cell projects
- Electrolyte R&D with external suppliers/partners
- Investigation and technical identification for promising electrolyte material
- Develop intellectual property to secure a competitive position
You will be assigned to specific battery cell projects to follow-up on the specific needs of the cell development around electrolytes.
Communication and follow-up with electrolyte suppliers and new developers will be also an important part of the job.
The person we are looking for is strongly goal-oriented, curious, and eager to learn.
