Job Description

As a Lead Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a team of HW engineers through the entire Left-hand side of the V-cycle. You will strongly contribute to design architecture & interface directly with system engineering leads & product managers.

Your strong technical expertise will be precious for deep-diving into complex circuit design & troubleshooting. You will use your mentoring & technical skills to improve the efficiency of the HW engineering department as a whole.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of both digital and analog electronics for high-power control systems and Battery Management Systems (BMS) specifically tailored for automotive applications.
  • Take complete ownership of control boards and electronics systems from concept through specification, design, prototyping, and manufacturing.
  • Design to cost & manufacturability at scale (100k+)
  • Manage & grow a team of HW engineer
  • Ensure & optimize adherence to stringent standards (HW Design / FuSa / Manufacturing)

    Requirements

  • Must-have 8+ years of demonstrated successful experience in electronics engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment (high power Li-Ion batteries is a plus).
  • Experience on BMS, Charger and Motor Controller.
  • Experience with Altium Designer for Schematic & PCB layout design.
  • Start to finish ownership of control boards and other electronics – from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.
  • Experience with high current power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, MOSFET’s, and Diodes), gate drive and protection circuit design.
  • Familiar with schematic capture and power converter circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience in the selection and use of DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices and their peripheral circuitry (signal conditioning, board-level power supplies).
  • Experience in supervision of PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition, and EMC optimization.
  • Knowledge in environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for Automotive, Industrial & Residential applications.
  • Collaborate with BMS HW/FW engineering team to successfully to design, validate and deploy testing tools
  • Experience in designing and supervising circuit design and PCB layout for EMI/EMC compliance
  • Fluent in English, ability to communicate with foreign teammates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from prestigious institutions or significant professional experience with demonstrated exceptional ability.
