In our Thermal system group we are looking for an Engineering Technician who will assist with thermal testing, characterization, and prototyping activities related to the development of Lucid products.

The role:

• Setting up laboratory test benches, instrumenting the test setup and executing test procedures
• Instrument an automobile meant for engineering testing and field support during various test trips
• Ordering essential suppliers and keeping careful inventory of all laboratory equipment
• Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary cooperative environment on prototype, pre-production, show, and production vehicles.

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles and bench systems

  Qualifications:

• Experience testing automotive, commercial refrigeration, or aerospace products
• Proficiency in basic thermal measurement methodologies, e.g. thermocouple placement, acquiring readings using automated data acquisition
• Patience, diligence and attention to detail, and ability to independently execute test procedures under direction from an engineer
• Proficient in using Excel, PowerPoint and other documentation tools
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs
• Self-motivated and self-started with excellent time management skills and entrepreneurial spirit and working within multifunctional teams, must be a great teammate
• Disciplined and organized, ability to keep careful documentation
• Strong individual contributor with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Experience in working with cars and power tools

  Preferred:

• Familiarity with basic thermal engineering principles
• Understanding thermal and airflow testing is helpful
• Understanding of plumbing typically employed in automotive applications
• Knowledge and experience in working with refrigeration systems and operating refrigeration equipment
• Certification in handling of refrigerant for mobile applications

• Candidates meeting not all the requirements will also be considered as long as they can demonstrate ability to learn fast on the job

  Education:

• AS/AA and 3+ years related experience.
