We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Lead Product Designer to lead our Product Design efforts in IT – Sales, Service and Commerce Team. As the Lead Product Designer, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process, from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring that both our internal and customer-facing products are user-friendly, functional, and visually appealing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, user needs, and market trends to drive the creation of innovative and compelling product designs. You will design intuitive workflows, apply world-class interaction design, and information architecture to transform the operational and customer experiences.
Design Thinking and Strategy:
- Apply design thinking methodologies to understand user needs, pain points, and opportunities. This involves conducting user research, empathy mapping, and defining design challenges.
- Develop a strategic vision for the Lucid’s sales, service, and commerce experiences. Align this vision with business goals and customer expectations.
Product Design and Innovation:
- Lead the end-to-end product design process, from ideation to execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including engineers, product managers, and business lead) to create seamless experiences.
- Drive innovation by integrating emerging design technologies and trends specific to the EV industry. Stay informed about user interface (UI) trends, sustainability, and accessibility.
Sales Experience:
- Design intuitive interfaces for online sales channels (websites, apps, etc.). Optimize the user journey steps - browsing, order, delivery, service, etc.
- Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and visual elements across sales touchpoints.
- Design intuitive interfaces in support of Sales Advisors and Sales Operations teams
Service Experience:
- Enhance the service experience for EV owners. Design user-friendly interfaces for service scheduling, maintenance tracking, and support.
- Collaborate with service centers to improve the overall customer experience during vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Commerce Experience:
- Create a seamless commerce experience for financing, leasing. And payments
- Prioritize user-centered design, considering factors like ease of use, trust, and transparency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization, including marketing, sales, service, and engineering. Advocate for design decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Communicate design rationale effectively to non-designers.
How We Work:
We balance hard work and innovation through meaningful, in person collaboration. Please note, this position is hybrid out of Newark, CA at a minimum of 3x per week.
You Will:
- Contribute to the concept and production of style guides to establish and drive a cohesive digital product vision
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality.
- Leading your design domain, modularizing the concept design and apply to the production level elements
- Create interaction paradigms and UX system Architecture, ability to transform complex ideas into simple structure and user centered flows
- Partner with Product and Engineering leads to streamline team processes and enhance execution.
- Develop and advocate a strategic perspective on the team’s product areas across the organization, leading and representing the design team effectively by substantiating the work and decisions behind them.
- Drive innovation and adaptability by integrating emerging design technologies and methodologies to stay ahead of market trends.
- Supervises overall design quality and motivates team to redefine products or projects. Provides new design guidance and feedback to other designers for their product domains
You Bring:
- 5+ years of professional experience in product or UI/UX design domain
- Experience working on both internal systems and customer-facing projects.
- Proven ability in influencing teams through strategic thinking and communication with user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- (Preferred) Experience in the automotive vehicle industry or with Salesforce tools.
- Display excellent time management skills and leading team to complete all kinds of task on time or even before deadline
- Solid knowledge of design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, also willing to learn new tools.
- Experience with designing operational experiences related Sales CRM
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- You embrace teamwork and partnership, are a receptive listener, and always take an open-minded and collaborative approach to design
- You’re capable of reducing complex concepts and challenges into easily understandable actionable tasks
- Passionate about design and technology trends.
- Experience with presenting work, approaches, design states or full execution to stakeholders.
- Demonstrates mastery of UI/UX, prototyping, visual design, product design, evaluative research, and generative user research. Leads the design team in technical skill. Explores areas outside of core technical skills, demonstrates mentorship abilities within and outside of their team. Has the ability to refine the overall design system to include new knowledge from other core areas, like motion design, to enhance the user experience.
- Fully accountable for the quality of projects in their domain. Is self-driven, identifies problems, and can offer solutions to these problems, both inside and outside of their domain. Requires little supervision from more designers but is encouraged to solve issues collaboratively with them when needed.
- An expert communicator clearly articulates business opportunities and how UX can be used to seize them. Aligns with peers in other departments to ensure UX team's work is helping to fulfill broader product objectives.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
