Kaluza wants to power a world where net-zero is within everyone’s reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable and resilient energy transition. It’s a huge challenge, but often the toughest problems are the most rewarding to solve. Since launching in 2019, Kaluza’s technology has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers. From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform supplier operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies. Kaluza is currently in an exciting growth phase, undergoing the next phase of our international expansion in Melbourne to further reinforce our capabilities as a globally distributed energy platform. This means that you would be one of the earliest Kaluza employees on the ground in Australia, and a key leader for our team, working directly with our clients in the region. We're in the early days of building our team and so in-office presence to us is important - working really closely with our clients to forge a strong working relationship. Our team currently works from our office in Melbourne CBD (Spencer St) 2-3 days per week. Our goal is to build a self-sufficient and empowered team here on the ground in Australia. We’re well on our way, but until we get there we still have some reliances on our UK team. Being comfortable working flexibly for a portion of your working week to cover time zones is required.
Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working? As Director of Solutions for the Australia and New Zealand region, you’ll be leading our product and services teams that enable retailers to transform their operations and drive the energy transition. Working across Kaluza’s full product set, you will be directly responsible for a team of solution architects, product managers, and business analysts, setting a clear vision and strategy and coaching them to translate complex local and client-specific needs into simple and innovative solutions that solve real customer and business problems. As a team, you will become experts on the Kaluza software-as-a-service products: how they work, how to configure them, and how to integrate with and extend them. With our clients’ success as your top priority, you will combine this expertise with your knowledge of the energy industry and technology ecosystem to drive high quality, high value solutions in partnership with both local and global product teams. You’ll be passionate about bringing out the best in others; improving ways of working, fostering a strong product culture, and creating a high-performing cross-functional team, in collaboration with the local leadership team and your global colleagues. As part of the leadership team, you’ll provide peer support and challenge and lead on key initiatives, and make decisions as a group that impact our offerings as a whole. You will also serve as a key member of our client-facing leadership team, advising executive-level clients and helping them to realise the maximum value from their partnership with Kaluza.
What will I be doing? Develop relationships with senior client stakeholders and advise them on their solution decisions, guided by a deep understanding of their business goals and technology ecosystem Build and develop a team of solution architects, product managers, and business analysts to serve a portfolio of regional clients Lead team in soliciting and documenting regional and client-specific needs for the Kaluza platform Provide solution expertise to guide implementation activities performed by our client, third-party partners, and Kaluza teams Along with peers in engineering and client success, lead large-scale implementations of the Kaluza platform Partner closely with the global Kaluza team, often requiring working across timezones, to complete product design and implementation activities required to meet local client needs Serve as the authoritative source of information within Kaluza for the clients’ business application ecosystem and how Kaluza fits Encourage adoption of features and capabilities by regularly conducting reviews of new capabilities with our clients Serve as the lead representative of Kaluza’s product teams in the ANZ region Support continual improvement of ways of working, promoting agile methods with our clients and maximising the effectiveness of our global product operating model
Is this the job for me? Ideally you will: Have substantial experience working in product management, solution architecture, or similar role(s) in the Australian Retail Energy sector. Maintain in-depth understanding of Energy Retail business processes and how technology can support them. Be someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and excels in fast-paced and changeable environments. Be a proven leader with experience building and leading a team with a focus on your team’s development and engagement. Inspire your team and your colleagues and are excellent at recruiting, retaining and growing great people. Be a seasoned expert in lean product development at different stages of the product life cycle. Have a deep understanding of agile methods and value, co-creating product vision and leadership strategies with your counterparts from other functions. Have a track record of simplifying complex customer experiences and journeys. Clearly translate product strategies in ways that resonate with senior stakeholders in technical and non-technical teams. Know how to help teams to build great solutions and experiences that people love and drive business value. Be data driven in measuring the impact of what you build Have experience implementing methodologies and frameworks including business cases and financial modeling to estimate and measure the financial impact of your products, and have built this expertise within your teams. Have a never-ending desire to grow and learn.
