Job Description
As the Head of Controlling at IONITY, your mission is to drive financial excellence and strategic decision-making across the organization, reporting directly to the CFO. You will lead the controlling team to deliver insightful financial analysis, robust budgeting and budget tracking as well as forecasting processes, ensuring IONITY’s financial health and supporting our growth objectives. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing financial performance, enhancing transparency, and fostering a culture of accountability and efficiency.
Your Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee the development and management of budgeting and forecasting. Ensure alignment with IONITY's strategic goals and internal stakeholders.
- Performance Monitoring: Implement and manage performance measurement systems to track key financial and operational metrics. Provide regular reports and actionable insights to senior management.
- Cost Management: Lead initiatives to control costs and improve profitability through detailed cost analysis and effective resource allocation.
- Strategic Decision Support: Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decisions, investments, and business development opportunities.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify and quantify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure robust internal controls and adherence to financial regulations.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor and lead a high-performing controlling team (currently team of 4). Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for financial matters with internal and external stakeholders in close collaboration with our Head of Accounting and Head of Business Planning.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in controlling or financial management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position, preferably in a start-up or scale-up environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are highly desirable.
- Microsoft Office: Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
- Additional Tools: Experience with Think-cell, Power BI, and Lucanet is a considerable advantage.
- ERP Systems: Work experience with SAP (Hana) and ideally SAP project controlling.
- Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
- Strategic Thinker: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Language Skills: Business fluent German and English skills, spoken and written.
- Integrity: High ethical standards and a commitment to trust, transparency, and accountability.
