Job Description

The Country Manager – DACH holds full accountability for the delivery and performance of IONITY’s network rollout within the regional cluster. This leader ensures the on-time, on-budget, and on-quality deployment of IONITY charging sites while maintaining profitability and long-term sustainability. The Country Manager oversees a team of 8 professionals (Asset Managers, Network Developers, and Rollout Managers), ensuring that project delivery, permitting, and grid connection processes are executed efficiently and aligned with business plan targets. Beyond delivery, the role requires strong leadership to foster innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in local processes, partnerships, and execution models.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the regional business plan and ensure all rollout, permitting, and construction activities meet IONITY’s quality, cost, and time objectives.
  • Manage the regional P&L for CAPEX and OPEX in line with financial performance goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing multicultural team, fostering accountability, agility, and collaboration.
  • Drive data-based decision-making, monitoring pipeline performance, site profitability, and delivery progress.
  • Develop and manage relationships with landlords, concessionaires, authorities, and grid operators.
  • Oversee the renewal and optimization of existing sites in coordination with Asset Management.
  • Promote innovation in processes, tools, and stakeholder engagement across the region.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and construction standards through coordination with relevant departments.
  • Represent IONITY in public and governmental interactions and maintain visibility in the EV ecosystem.
  • Report regional KPIs, challenges, and achievements to the Head of Rollout, ensuring alignment with the overall Network Development strategy.
  • Minimum 8 years in infrastructure rollout, construction management, or network operations across multiple countries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Project Management or Master’s degree in Management, Energy, or Engineering.
  • Proven track record in large-scale rollout projects and CAPEX management.
  • Experience managing diverse, multi-country teams.
  • Knowledge of permitting, legal, and construction frameworks across Europe.
  • Demonstrated accountability for budget, timeline, and quality delivery.
  • Experience negotiating with landlords, authorities, and utilities.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills with ability to innovate and adapt to complex challenges.
  • Data-driven, target-oriented, and analytical mindset.
  • Strategic communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ownership and accountability for results.
  • Agility and problem-solving orientation.
  • Fluent in English and German.
