Job Description
ION Mobility is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is passionate in sustainable mobility, technology and delivering great products to join our expanding team. This person should be motivated to learn quickly and get involved in vehicular design of ION Mobility's electric motorcycle and work closely with our existing team to bring the product from concept to prototype and into production.
Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Integration, modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies including plastics, sheet metal, casted metal, and other components
- Mechanical design analysis including structural, thermal, CFD, design for testing, manufacturing and assembly
- Create drawing packages and manufacturing instructions for parts and assemblies
- Organize engineering prototype builds and component fabrication
- Collaborate with other cross functional teams to take designs from prototype to mass production
Key Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years experience in electric motorcycle or equivalent engineering roles
- Professional design experience in bringing vehicles to production
- Expert in CAD design suites, such as: NX, Catia, Solidworks etc.
- An independent thinker who can approach and solve problems analytically
- Hands-on engineer who is comfortable in a dynamic startup environment
- Avid motorbike enthusiast will be a strong plus, but not a necessity!
