Job Description

About Helion

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are now operating Polaris, our next prototype on the path to the world's first fusion power plant.

This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths – values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.

As the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition at Helion, you'll lead full-cycle recruiting while managing and developing a team of recruiters and sourcers. You'll partner with hiring managers and company leaders to implement scalable, efficient hiring strategies and ensure an excellent candidate and hiring team experience. You'll be hands-on in both execution and team enablement, helping build a recruiting function that delivers top talent to Helion. This role is based onsite at our Everett, WA office and reports to the Director of Talent & People Operations.

You Will:

  • Grow a team of recruiters and sourcers supporting hiring across all pipelines
  • Partner with senior leaders across the company to understand talent needs and complete recruiting plans that meet hiring goals and move towards company milestones
  • Ensure every stage - from sourcing to offer - reflects Helion's values of speed, thoughtfulness, and excellence, while delivering an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Track recruiting metrics, identify trends, and process improvements with efficiency and inclusivity
  • Audit and refine recruiting practices to stay ahead of industry trends and build the best possible teams to achieve Helion's mission
  • Embed D&I best practices into sourcing, interviewing, and hiring to ensure diverse teams across the company

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in recruiting, with a focus on both technical and non-technical hiring
  • 4+ years of management experience leading and building recruiting teams
  • Experience hiring at scale across technical, manufacturing, and operations in close partnership with senior leadership
  • Experience developing recruiting strategies to source, engage, and close passive talent in competitive markets
  • Experience with recruiting data to guide hiring strategies, improve processes, and measure team success
  • Hands-on experience partnering with cross-functional partners to build systems, programs, and workflows that improve efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes
