About the role

Data science and machine learning are a core part of the fabric of how we create value for farmers, and progress our mission at Halter. Halter’s collars, and extensive fleet across diverse conditions, regions and operations place us in a unique position to solve challenging problems in novel ways. Our deep learning models are core to all of our product domains. Systems leveraging satellite and other data sources to measure pasture density, models delivering insights on cow/cattle health and mating are just a few examples of how we apply the discipline of data science to advancing our mission.

In this role, we are looking for a world-class Data Scientist to join our Pasture team to advance our systems for estimating and forecasting pasture metrics, through the application of data science and deep learning. You will work on topics ranging from remote sensing, through to complete farm system modelling, and develop an appreciation for the physics and biology intrinsic in pasture modelling you never thought possible.
