Role Description
We are seeking Senior Manufacturing Engineers to join our world-class Anode Process team. Our Anode Process Team is a cross-disciplinary group of experts in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing. Together, we’re responsible for designing, developing, and scaling cutting-edge electrode manufacturing processes for Form Energy’s Iron-Air multi-day battery.
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, landing, and optimizing novel manufacturing processes for the core technology of Form Energy’s battery technology, our Iron Anode, making significant contributions to the operational success of our Iron-Air Battery as a whole. We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience developing new technologies from concept to scaled implementation, and a proactive, interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Your work will make a significant and daily impact on a cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major change to grid reliability and sustainability.
This opportunity is based out of Form Energy's Eighty Four, PA facility. Relocation assistance is available.
What You'll Do:
- Prioritize safety across all aspects of manufacturing, ranging from process design to scaled manufacturing
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability, solving tough problems and overcoming challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Partner closely with our Manufacturing Equipment Team to design, build, install, and run processes on first-of-kind manufacturing equipment
- Work with a diverse range of teams inside and outside the company to achieve major manufacturing milestones
- Develop novel test methods to evaluate electrodes in real time during production
- Mentor, guide, and support team members with your expertise and practical experience
What You'll Bring:
- 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Hands on experience with medium to large equipment and desire to roll up your sleeves and fill the gaps where necessary
- Comfort using statistical methods for making process development decisions (i.e. JMP or Minitab)
- Experience owning manufacturing processes and showing accountability for their quality, throughput, yield, and overall success
- Experience authoring process, safety, and quality documentation for best-in-class practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
