Job Description

Are you ready to rise to the challenge of climate change with the team that will deliver? Form Energy is a U.S. technology and manufacturing company that is developing and commercializing pioneering energy storage technologies to enable the electric grid to run on 100% renewable energy, every day of the year.

Supported by leading investors such as Breakthrough Energy Ventures, ArcelorMittal, TPG Rise, MIT’s The Engine, and others, we share a common belief that low-cost, multi-day energy storage is the key to enable tomorrow’s zero carbon electric grid. Driven by our core values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, we are deeply motivated and inspired to create a better world. We need talented, hardworking individuals who share our goal of tackling the challenge of climate change. Do you want to work with us today to build a better tomorrow?

Role Description

As Form transforms the grid, we are looking for a Logistics Associate to directly enable our multi-day energy storage technology commercialization and scale-up. You will be responsible for developing and executing the strategies to transport goods and deploy Form’s new class of energy storage systems. You will establish a carrier network, oversee regulatory compliance, and deliver optimized strategies that minimize costs, maximize reliability, and mitigate risks associated with the transport and deployment of Form’s systems.

You will be both the internal and external point of contact for transport, compliance, and related logistics issues. The successful candidate will rely on their experience and deep industry knowledge to bring quantitative oversight and process-oriented approaches to managing the movement of Form’s goods, while developing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors alike. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this position is part of the rapidly growing Supply Chain organization and will work very closely with the Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams.

This opportunity is based out of Form Energy's Eighty Four, PA facility. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:

  • Develop logistics strategies and roadmaps to minimize costs and maximize reliability for Form's project deployment, including inbound and outbound logistics, considering freight, warehousing, packaging, and duties costs.
  • Establish a reliable network of carriers and brokers to manage the flow of goods between Form's suppliers, manufacturing sites, and customer project sites by leveraging in-depth knowledge of routes, modes, schedules, pricing models, and Form's business requirements.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by overseeing packaging and documentation requirements for the transport of goods, including dangerous goods.
  • Oversee trade compliance, including maintaining customs documentation and reviewing HS code designations.
  • Integrate transportation management and data sharing between carrier and Form systems.
  • Audit carrier invoicing on a routine basis
  • Provide shrewd insight and recommendations to engineering and supply chain teams to inform product designs, optimize deployment methods, and minimize landed costs
  • Regularly report on status, progress, cost trajectories, and risks

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years professional experience in logistics or supply chain operations, experience at a high volume manufacturer a plus
  • Broad knowledge of packaging, transport, and trade compliance regulations
  • Experience creating RFQs and selecting carriers using detailed selection criteria
  • Quantitative, analytical, data-driven decision maker with a high attention to detail
  • Track record of driving projects to completion, delivering results, and bringing new solutions to life
  • Motivated by difficult problems, excited to collaborate across organizations, and seeking individual responsibility
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize efforts, and effectively communicate progress and strategic roadmaps
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, or other relevant discipline
  • Must be able to work in the US and travel globally as necessary
