Job Description

We are seeking a Battery Material Engineer responsible for the development and optimization of key materials used in next-generation lithium-ion and solid-state batteries.
This role involves end-to-end ownership of one or more material systems, such as cathode (high-Ni NMC), anode (graphite + SiC), separator, binder, or collector foil.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation, development, and implementation of advanced battery materials and related processes.
  • Collaborate with global material suppliers to evaluate and integrate the latest innovations into production.
  • Design and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) to optimize performance and validate new formulations.
  • Incorporate new materials into existing chemical systems to enhance cell performance, stability, and longevity.
  • Drive the development of new materials and process platforms in alignment with the company’s technical roadmap.
  • Conduct and lead failure analysis (FA) and technical troubleshooting related to materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical documentation and cross-functional support to R&D and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in material or product development, with solid experience in lithium-ion battery materials.
  • Proven ability to independently lead material or product development projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis and failure analysis experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical discussions; background in EV battery development is highly preferred.
