About the Team
The Business Finance team is focused on four areas of expertise within EVBox:
- Management Reporting & Business Intelligence: providing financial/business insights and recurring financial reporting to all stakeholders (executive/middle management, supervisory board, shareholders), monitoring for financial risks and opportunities, enabling self-service and automated business reporting.
- Business Partnering: supporting business stakeholders as a finance business partner, providing financial insights and performing supporting analysis, controlling spend and budget performance, analyzing and forecasting financial performance, setting up key processes.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: consolidating and analyzing group financials, driving budgeting and financial planning, providing guidance to company management and company strategy.
- Competitive Intelligence: managing and driving internal/external company insights and benchmarks, performing market & competitor analyses, managing and generating market data and insights.
About the role
- In the role of Business Finance Analyst / Junior Business Controller, you will collaborate closely with other Business Finance team members and interact with all company functions including Sales, Operations, Technology, and other supporting functions, as well as their senior management and the Chief Financial Officer.
- Provide financial analysis to support company functions across Sales, Marketing & Strategy, Operations, Technology and other company supporting functions.
- Support monthly management reporting, including the preparation of monthly financials and supporting analysis for company executive management, supervisory board and other internal/external stakeholders.
- Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes, with a focus on revenue, gross margin, costs or cash impacts and/or the consolidation of numbers.
- Control cost / spend performance against budget / forecast and organize cost performance reviews with cost owners to scrutinize and challenge spend
- Support key commercial topics such as sales & operational planning, inventory management, new deal / business case appraisal and pricing strategy.
- Support various other business control topics such as performing budget reviews, managing cost or contract approvals, identifying savings potentials, finding cash flow improvements, managing financial risks.
- Support the improvement of business processes and procedures to improve financial control, insight and scalability across the organization.
- Support the development of automated business intelligence capabilities, including financial reporting and interactive dashboards.
- Support strategic initiatives such as developing long-term financial projections, driving company valuations, driving business cases for significant investments.
- Support the development of competitive intelligence capabilities, including competitor benchmarking, market analysis and tracking of key commercial developments.
- Autonomously drive discussions and reviews with internal or external stakeholders, in particular of middle management or supporting teams.
- Autonomously perform reporting, analysis and business reviews of minor areas of the financial statements such as specific cost areas, revenue lines, or balance sheet positions.
About you
Education requirements
- University Degree (Bachelor, Master, MBA), preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
Experience requirements
- 3-6 years’ experience in a relevant advisory or corporate role:
- Advisory Roles: Ideally transaction advisory services or management consultancy.
- Corporate Roles: Ideally business analyst/controller or FP&A in a similar industry.
- Experience in a highly dynamic, fast paced environment.

Skills required
- Excellent commercial and business acumen and ability to ‘see the big picture’.
- Expertise in financial accounting, ideally demonstrated by an accounting qualification.
- Strong financial modelling skills, affinity for numbers and analytical mind-set.
- Expert level in Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Natural ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with others.
- Driven and ambitious character, with a desire to learn and go the extra mile.
