Job Description

Position Summary

The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for stewarding relationships with strategic partners–including global decision-makers, development partners, senior advisors, subject matter experts, and our community of trained Climate Ambassadors operating in 79 countries worldwide. The Partnerships Manager will cultivate and secure new clients, and build out the overall partnerships program at Climate Interactive.

This is an opportunity for a skilled Partnerships Manager who is interested in leveraging their relationship building, business development, and leadership capabilities to expand Climate Interactive’s ability to engage decision-makers and inform climate strategy and policy worldwide.

The Partnership Manager will work collaboratively across Climate Interactive’s projects and programs and play a leadership role in the En-ROADS Climate Ambassador (ECA) Program and Climate Solution Events (CSE) Program.

The ECA Program is a network of 730 trained facilitators worldwide who use Climate Interactive’s En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator to engage others in conversations about climate change. The CSE Program is a newly defined program that is scaling up the reach and impact of Climate Interactive’s tools among private- and public-sector decision-makers in order to accelerate climate change mitigation through events led by Climate Interactive staff and ECAs. Our real-time, interactive simulators–and associated workshops, games, and trainings–help leaders understand the impact of various scenarios and policy decisions on global temperature rise and equity outcomes.

Climate Interactive's simulators are used by over 720,000 people across 160+ countries, ranging from heads of state to corporate leaders to students. Notably, Climate Interactive’s simulators were recently used to engage and train 128 members of the U.S. Congress leading up to the recent passage of the U.S. IRA Bill (2022), and were quintessential tools used by the Obama Administration and the Chinese Government to help secure the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.

Responsibilities

Partner Stewardship

Work with Climate Interactive’s Directors to identify, develop, manage, and grow relationships with existing and prospective strategic partners Identify and collaborate with En-ROADS Climate Ambassadors (ECAs) who are reaching decision-makers to define best practices for decision-maker engagements, and to track and report on the long-term impact of their engagements Work with Climate Interactive’s Engagement Team to develop offerings that help our network of 700+ ECAs deploy best practices to effectively engage decision-makers and affect climate strategies and policies worldwide Manage relationships with ECAs under contract to diffuse Climate Interactive’s tools and expand our network of global facilitators, partners, and event participants Manage Climate Interactive’s global network of translators and coordinate translation projects for our tools and materials As appropriate, support project teams in creating and managing partner coalitions and/or advisory groups for discrete, grant-funded projects Lead Cultivation

Actively engage current partners (e.g., strategic partners, current and past event hosts) to identify and cultivate new and/or recurring leads for Climate Interactive’s Climate Solutions Events (CSE) offerings (e.g., workshops, trainings) Field inquiries from prospective clients, build relationships, and sell CSE offerings Work with Climate Interactive’s Operations and Development teams to craft CSE event proposals and negotiate client contracts Develop and implement stewardship plans to maintain relationships with CSE clients after event delivery and to effectively track the impact of CSE events over time Work with Climate Interactive’s Communications team to develop, launch, and manage targeted marketing campaigns to select decision-maker audiences Maintain a leads management database to track lead generation, cultivation, and conversion Program Management

Work with the Development Team to establish or improve CRM systems and processes to effectively track, manage, and report on partnerships and their efficacy Maintain up-to-date databases of current and prospective partners Collect partnership data and narratives to assess and communicate impact Work with the Director of Engagement to set annual partnership objectives that support Climate Interactive’s strategic goals and help us best deliver on our mission Serve as a thought partner to Climate Interactive’s Directors on the expansion and direction of our partnership development efforts Build and maintain fluency with Climate Interactive’s tools, offerings, and event facilitation techniques to best represent Climate Interactive to partners and clients

Requirements

Five years of partnership management, business development, and/or outreach management experience Proven success in stewarding relationships with diverse, international partners–ranging from remote community organizers to C-suite executives and top government officials Demonstrated track record of generating and converting leads into clients and strategic partners Proven success developing and managing marketing efforts to reach target audiences Experience managing contractors to deliver discrete projects Exceptional relationship-building and cross-functional communication skills Experience leading or supporting the growth of a partnerships program within an organization, including testing new strategies, implementing new systems and processes, and managing resources effectively for growth Highly-effective time management, organizational, and decision making skills Effective self-sufficiency in remote work environments, yielding high productivity Dedication to embodying equity and inclusion values while representing Climate Interactive Experience working in climate, environment, and/or sustainability/ESG fields required; experience as a Partnerships Manager at a climate-focused nonprofit preferred Advanced degrees preferred but not required

Location

Remote. Outside of the U.S. possible, with the ability to coordinate with the East Coast U.S. time zone.

Compensation

Climate Interactive offers a generous compensation package for this role, including:

Starting salary of between $65,000-$95,000, with exact compensation varying based on skills and experience 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurances, including premiums and deductibles 3% automatic employer-paid retirement contribution (401K) plus up to an additional 3% match on employee contributions (401K or Roth IRA) Short- and long-term disability and life insurances Cell phone, internet, and fitness expense benefits Generous vacation, health, holiday, and leave time (minimum 35 days/year) Reporting Structure

The Partnerships Manager will report to Climate Interactive’s Director of Engagement.
