CIMMYT is a core CGIAR Research Center, a global research partnership for a food-secure future, dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources.

CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, with attention to the details, leader, and service-oriented professional for the position of Global Fleet Manager, to be part of the Business Services Department.

The position will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, State of Mexico, near Mexico City.

Specific duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global fleet management strategy, covering vehicle lifecycle from acquisition, registration, assignment, maintenance to disposal, and incident management.Co-design capacity development solutions and interventions with the research programs at CIMMYT and other technical partners that collaborate with the Academy.
  • Develop and manage fleet operational and capital budgets, regularly analyze financial performance, identify deviations, and proactively implement corrective actions ensuring cost-effectiveness and full cost recovery.
  • Oversee the rollout, and maintenance of a global Fleet Management System. Ensure real-time vehicle tracking, reporting, and analytics capability across regions.
  • Develop and execute a global fleet safety program, including defensive driving training, accident prevention strategies, compliance with local and international safety regulations, and robust incident management protocols.
  • Negotiate and manage global contracts with suppliers for vehicles, fuel, insurance, toll services, and maintenance. Ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability of services.
  • Collaborate effectively with procurement, finance, operations, and regional offices to ensure cohesive fleet management practices globally.
  • Establish and monitor global fleet KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and present insightful analyses to senior management.

Requirements

  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree / master’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Business Administration or similar.
  • Advanced level of English language (C1).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Advanced level in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
