Job Description
The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, known by its Spanish acronym, CIMMYT®, is a not-for-profit agricultural research for development organization with partners in over 100 countries.
CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Procurement Analyst to work in the Procurement Unit of the Business Services Department of CIMMYT focused in control and management of contracts.
The position is based at CIMMYT’s campus in Texcoco, State of Mexico, located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico.
Specific Duties:
- Liaison between Legal Team and other Departments for the Management of Procurement Contracts.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of contract generation, since request of the contract, to expiration date.
- Request the relevant documents from suppliers for contracting.
- Maintain a document management repository.
- Follow up with Legal Team for the generation and signature of contracts related to Procurement.
- Follow up with suppliers for documentation and signature of contracts.
- Establish an alert system to detect contracts close to expiration dates and inform the related buyers and end-users ahead of time.
- Establish an efficient communication channel with internal clients, suppliers, and partners units to ensure efficient and effective completion of the procurement transactions.
- Support in monthly and annual closing of purchase orders in the institutional ERP Procurement and Sourcing Module.
- Other related activities that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- The selected candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Finance or Logistics.
- 2 years of experience in procurement.
- Advanced level in MS Office, specifically in Excel and Power Point.
- Intermediate level of English (written and conversational). English will be evaluated and candidate should score a minimum of B1 on CEFR.
- The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Organization, Critical thinking, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Problem Solving decision making, Negotiation and Conflict resolution.
