Job Description
- Contribute to the HR internal communication efforts via different communication strategies and approaches, coordinating with HR managers, key HR staff, and stakeholders.
- Develop communication plans that effectively convey HR policies, procedures, projects, programs, and initiatives to staff such as staff benefits, policy/procedure changes, performance management, staff relations and wellbeing, and Risk Management and Hospitality related topics to ensure that staff is aware and informed.
- Create and implement communication campaigns, such as newsletters, email campaigns, videos, social media, and messaging to ensure staff receives the necessary HR, Risk Management, and Hospitality information in a timely manner.
- Act as the focal point from HR, Risk Management, and Hospitality and collaborate with key departments to ensure HR communications are aligned with the overall organizational messaging.
- Prepare tailored HR drafts, content, and/or translations to different internal audiences so that the message is communicated most effectively.
- Administrate the communication channels to deliver HR information and messaging to staff, such as the intranet, HR systems and platforms, and HR email account, and continuously assess their effectiveness to improve communication approaches.
- Facilitate and coordinate the work of the One Staff Committee and the country-specific staff committees.
- Coordinate the Gender, Diversity, and Inclusion (GDI) programs of CIMMYT and propose policy and procedures modifications where necessary or beneficial.
- Conduct staff consultation to analyze data and make recommendations for promoting GDI, positive staff relations and engagement, and consistent treatment of staff.
- Provide guidance and training for CIMMYT staff on staff engagement approaches, supervisory relationships, workplace practices, diversity awareness, and employee rights.
- Support and implement staff development initiatives, coaching, mentoring, and recognition programs, in coordination with the HR management and admin teams.
- Create partnerships with health and wellness organizations, community initiatives, financial institutions, mental health organizations, and related ones to support staff physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
- Provide counselling to staff and coordinate/channel the relevant support service when required, internal or external, to positively impact their engagement, work performance, and retention.
- Support the implementation of workshops related to healthy lifestyles, and strengthen behavioural, social, and physical health, in coordination with the OH&S, Medical Service, and HR Managers, and regularly evaluate their effectiveness to suggest improvements as needed.
- Keep up to date with regulatory and market trends affecting wellbeing programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, People Management, Communications, Staff Relations or related fields. A candidate with an MBA or master’s degree in the mentioned fields would be desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, especially in communications, conordinating staff relations and wellbeing programs.
- Experience in developing and executing programs that measurably impact positive employee engagement.
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially MS Word and MS Excel, and Power Point) and communication standard software.
- Experience in capturing HR data and producing various employment reports.
- Able to be flexible in taking up tasks outside of regular job responsibilities as required.
- Ability to work collaboratively across various functions in an uncertain, changing environment.
- The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Organization, Critical thinking, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Problem-Solving, decision-making, Negotiation and Conflict resolution.
