Software Developer, MES
Reporting to the Director if IT, the Software Developer will be responsible for overseeing and providing the development of a family of products, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Quality Management Software (QMS), and related technologies. Responsibilities include end-to-end support, troubleshooting user issues, proactively implementing enhancements and customizations to meet anticipated business needs, and coordinating multiple integrations with internal and third-party tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement and development of custom MES software.
- Implement integrations between custom MES and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
- Create applications for custom MES based on company objectives.
- Manage user access to the Syspro ERP, MES, QMS, and related systems.
- Triage and resolve user- and system-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate and oversee planned maintenance windows.
- Communicate system-related updates to project stakeholders and company leadership.
- Partner with internal and external partners to implement enhancements, add new functionality, and integrate Syspro with other technical solutions.
- Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline, and professional competence.
- Proactively implement technical solutions to align with strategic business plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Education:
- 4 year college degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with one or more MES/ERP technologies, including integrations, upkeep, and support in a manufacturing environment preferred (Syspro a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in software development/engineering projects with implementation experience across full lifecycle.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong troubleshooting and programming software solutions skills based on multi-tiered architecture using C#, ASP.NET a must, and Blazor a plus.
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional internal and external teams to deliver desired results.
- Strong stakeholder management experience.
- SQL database knowledge (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Proficient technical knowledge in one or more ERP, MES, and QMS technologies, including application and database servers and custom reporting in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamically changing start-up environment.
Working Conditions/Hours:
This is a full-time, salaried position located in Georgetown, TX. The Software Engineer will be expected to be onsite at the company’s facility during normal business hours (M-F).
- Ability to travel to Company sites (expected to be <20%)
- Occasional off-hours work, as needed, to support maintenance windows or other planned and unplanned critical activities

Work Environment – Office
Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and exposure to hazardous materials used in the manufacturing process.
PPE
Employee may be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures. Ear plugs are recommended in areas of high noise levels that meet minimum OSHA requirements.
Physical Demands – Office
This position requires the ability to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close and peripheral vision. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance (including ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs).
