Flux is a pre-commercialisation, R&D stage startup developing a breakthrough desalination technology to produce abundant, dirt-cheap clean water and address increasing global water scarcity. Flux is establishing a new water supply solution to tackle growing water insecurity. The Flux solution involves a novel engineering design, powered entirely by the sun. Flux's breakthrough technology significantly improves on incumbent desalination technologies, delivering clean water at a cost competitive with tap water, while protecting marine environments via the delivery of zero-liquid discharge of waste brine.

• Flux will raise a seed round in late 2025 prior to deployment of its first pilot facility in early 2026
• Additional pilot deployments are expected throughout 2026 before commercialisation from 2027
• The team will grow to 15-18 engineers following the seed fundraise, with a focus on engineering, manufacturing, process and materials engineering.

Flux's Climate Impact

Flux was founded to develop an affordable and accessible solution to growing global water scarcity, predominantly as a climate adaptation solution. It's challenging to quantify GHG reduction in the deployment of Flux's desalination technology, unlikely to replace existing desalination infrastructure.
